Handmade brass is meant to be used, not guarded. With almost no effort it stays beautiful for generations, and it is entirely up to you whether it gleams like new or wears a soft, lived-in patina.
Everyday care
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use. For food pieces, hand-wash with mild soap and warm water, then dry fully, brass dislikes sitting wet.
To bring back the shine
A paste of lemon juice and salt, or a little tamarind, rubbed on and rinsed off, restores the glow the way Indian homes have done it for centuries. Commercial brass polish works too.
To keep the patina
Prefer the aged look? Simply do nothing. The darkening is oxidation, not damage, and many collectors love it. Our Moradabad brass is made to age gracefully either way.
