Aqua Blue Lippan Wall Hanging Floral Motif

Lippan Kaam from Kutch, Gujarat takes its forms from the natural world, flora pressed into wet clay, mirrors set to catch desert light. The Rabari and Mutwa women who practice this art do not work from drawings. The pattern emerges from the hand, the clay, and what has been learned by watching.

Made in Kutch, Gujarat by women artisans working in the Lippan Kaam tradition, this handcrafted wall hanging layers aqua and blue clay into a flowing plant motif, setting mirrors into the relief before the surface sets. The technique has been practiced on the walls of Kutchi bhungas for generations, this piece adapts the scale and geometry for a contemporary interior.

The palette is quiet and does not compete. It works in a bedroom that already has color, or on a white wall where it becomes the only color. The mirrors change character with the light, morning and evening versions of the same object.
