Details
From the iron-ore forests of Bastar, Chhattisgarh, the Lohshilp tradition produces figures that are deliberately minimal, heated metal shaped by hand into forms that suggest more than they state. Three musicians, seated. The silence between them is part of the composition.
Each figure in this trio is handcrafted from wrought iron by craftspeople in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, where the Lohshilp tradition has been practiced since iron-smith communities first turned functional metalwork into art. The forms are angular and gestural, a lean, an instrument held, a posture that implies music without depicting it.
They occupy a surface the way a good handmade object should: quietly, but with enough presence that you notice when they're not there. Group them closely or space them apart, both work. The iron is matte and slightly textured, not polished.

Materials + Care
