Chintz Trio Hand Block-Printed Cotton Cushion Set

Drawn from the 18th-century chintz tradition of Sanganer, outside Jaipur, these cushion covers are hand block-printed in ivory, maroon, and navy, three tones that work together the way a considered room works together. The chintz tradition that reached Europe through East India Company trade routes originated in the block-printing ateliers of Rajasthan. Artisans carved dense floral motifs into teak blocks, applied natural dyes, and pressed each repeat onto cotton by hand. This set of three cushion covers inherits that vocabulary, ivory, maroon, and navy in layered floral patterns that hold their character on a sofa as easily as on a bed.
