Details
Gota work — the flattened metallic ribbon stitched into discs and borders across Indian textiles — gathered here into a single rakhi disc, with a kodi shell pressed at its centre. Gold on gold, the kind of tonal restraint that reads as quiet rather than loud festivity.
The Gota Saaz rakhi takes its name from gota, the metallic ribbon technique long used to trim borders and dress festive textiles, hand-worked here into a compact gold disc. A kodi shell sits at the centre, strung with beads and dori cord in a palette that stays gold on gold rather than reaching for colour. The rakhi measures 40 cm, its lumba companion 16 cm — a pair sized for brother and sister-in-law. Minimal and tonal, made to sit quietly on the wrist rather than announce itself.
Materials + Care
Pure brass, sheesham, cotton — colours from a dye pot, not a swatch. Brass deepens with use; that is not a defect, it is the object becoming yours. Care notes for each material live in the Details above.
