Handwoven & Block-Printed Set Sage, Rust, Mustard and Teal

Sage and teal handwoven against rust and mustard block-printed, the set holds both the cool and the warm, the restrained and the exuberant. The handwoven solid panels are made on pit looms in Rajasthan, their colour even because the thread was dyed before weaving. The block-printed curtain carries a pattern pressed into cotton by artisans using carved wooden blocks, its handcrafted surface alive with the slight variation that comes from hand pressure.

Sage-teal handwoven panels provide the ground note; the block-printed curtain in rust, mustard, and teal provides the melody. This is not a matchy-matchy set, the teal appears in both but in different proportions, and the sage of the handwoven panels has a grey-green quality that the printed teal does not. The tension between them is exactly right.

Pure cotton throughout, handmade in Rajasthan, where weavers and printers have been working in proximity long enough that their artisanal traditions have learned to complement each other.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash cold or hand wash in cold water.
• Wash separately for first two washes to prevent colour transfer.
• Do not bleach. Line dry in shade, avoid direct sunlight while drying.
• Iron on medium while slightly damp for best results.
• Avoid tumble drying on high heat.
