Kashmir Willow Lidded Wicker Storage Box

Woven from willow harvested in the Kashmir Valley and set around a dark wood frame by artisans from Ganderbal, the region that has sustained Kashmir's wicker tradition for centuries. The lid is constructed separately and fitted so it rests without play. The contrast of pale willow and darkened wood is not ornamentation; it is the honest meeting of two materials.

Made in collaboration with the Kashmir Innovation Lab (KILAB) and the wicker weavers of Ganderbal, Kashmir, this storage box combines hand-harvested willow wicker with a charcoal-finished wood frame. The willow is woven tightly enough to hold its shape without reinforcement, loose enough that the box breathes, important for anything stored inside. The lid lifts cleanly and sits without sliding.

Use it for rotis, bread, dry fruit, bangles, letters, the small accumulated objects of a household that never quite find a home. The box does not dictate its own purpose. It is simply well-made, which means it will be useful in whatever way you need it to be.
