Mustard & Black Bagru Chevron Bedsheet

Chevron is among the oldest geometry in Indian textile, it moves through ikat, through weaving, through block print, always carrying the same visual energy: direction, momentum, the eye moving up the cloth. Bagru printers, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan, cut this form into their wooden blocks alongside floral forms and have been pressing it into cotton for generations. Here it arrives in mustard and black, the combination that appears everywhere from Rajasthani embroidery to Madhubani paintings.

A Bagru-tradition geometric block print, pressed onto pure cotton in mustard and black: the chevron repeat carries across the cloth's body, bordered by a black-accented edge that closes the composition. The hand-block printing means no two sheets are identical, the pressure varies, the repeat breathes.

This sheet is confident. The mustard-black combination has deep roots in Indian visual culture; it reads as both traditional and current. The two pillow covers continue the chevron into the pillow; the border treatment on the sheet edges frames the bed like a painting.

• Machine wash cold, gentle cycle.
• Wash separately for first two washes.
