Mustard & Off-White Marigold Motif Bedsheet

In Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan, block printers have been pressing it into cloth for centuries using carved wooden blocks, each one cut by a karigaar who learned from his father. This bedsheet carries that lineage in mustard and off-white, with a textured border that turns the edge into a frame.

The Sanganer tradition of white-ground block printing begins with the fabric, pure cotton, dense enough to take ink, fine enough to breathe, and ends with an artisan walking a carved teak block the length of a table, pressing repeat by repeat. The marigold motif here sits in mustard and off-white, punctuated by leaf forms that move like a border print gone free.

This is the sheet that reads differently in morning sun versus lamplight. It works under a quilt or alone on a summer night. The set includes a pillow cover; it has the unhurried quality of cloth that knows it will be used.
