Off-White & Blue Hand-Printed Floral Bedsheet

Blue on white is the oldest combination in Indian block printing, the indigo pot and the white cloth, the artisan pressing carved wooden blocks across the surface until the field is covered. In Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan, this tradition continues unbroken; the blocks are carved from the same teak, the repeat logic is the same, the result is a cloth that looks contemporary and carries centuries behind it.

Printed in Sanganer on pure cotton, this bedsheet carries a blue floral repeat on an off-white ground, the classic combination of the Sanganer white-ground printing tradition. Carved wooden blocks give the floral its form; the slight migration of dye into the weave gives it warmth. Off-white ground means the room reads cool in summer and warm in winter, the same cloth doing different things in different light.

Two matching pillow covers are included from the same block session. This sheet is the one that works in the room where you have everything else figured out, it completes without competing.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash cold, gentle cycle.
• Wash separately for first two washes.
• Do not bleach. Tumble dry low or line dry in shade.
• Iron on medium while slightly damp.
• Store folded in a cool, dry place.
