Royal Courtyards Dusty Pink Jaali & Floral Cushion Set

The jaali, the latticed screen, is one of the defining architectural gestures of Rajput and Mughal palace design. Light came through it; air came through it; the women inside could see the courtyard without being seen. This handcrafted cushion set takes the jaali's geometry and the courtyard's florals and compresses them into cotton at the scale of a throw pillow. The printing is done by hand, pattern block by pattern block.

The Royal Courtyards Collection draws its visual grammar from the ornate domestic architecture of royal India, specifically the interplay of jaali screens and floral courtyards. This set is hand-printed in dusty pink: two cushions carry the jaali's lattice geometry, one carries the floral repeat. They are designed to work together, as a room's different surfaces once worked together in a palace.

Arrange all three on a sofa, or separate the jaali and floral to carry the palette across different seating. The dusty pink reads as warm against white walls and grounded against terracotta or ochre. The artisanal prints will not fade into each other; each piece has enough visual presence to hold its own.
