Green Leafy Stripes Reversible Mulmul Quilt

Mulmul is the fabric India reaches for in heat, gossamer-thin, woven so loosely air moves through it as freely as through a window screen. In Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan, this cloth gets pressed with carved wooden blocks: leafy stripes that echo the vertical rhythm of palace gardens, the long rows of neem and ashoka that line Rajasthan's old courtyards. Turn this quilt over and the pattern shifts, a different story on each side.

Hand-printed in Sanganer using carved wooden blocks, this mulmul quilt carries leafy stripe motifs in green, the pattern is architectural, rooted in the garden aesthetics of Rajputana's courtyards. Both sides are hand-block printed with complementary designs; the reversible construction means you are choosing between two distinct moods rather than simply flipping a quilt.

The cotton stuffing is pure, no synthetics, which is what allows the quilt to breathe rather than trap heat. Under air conditioning it provides exactly the weight your body asks for: present but not insistent. It folds to almost nothing and opens into something substantial.
