Jaali and Floral Blue and Dusty Pink Cushion Cover Set of 5

Five covers, two motifs, one palette, blue and dusty pink, in proportions drawn from the jaali and floral traditions of Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan. Three jaali, two floral: the lattice in the majority, the botanical as the counterpoint. Each cover is handmade and hand-block printed using carved wooden blocks on pure cotton, by artisans who work in a tradition three centuries old.

Five cushion covers in blue and dusty pink, hand-block printed in Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan, the block-printing capital of Rajasthan. Three carry the jaali lattice motif, two carry the floral. The difference in scale and character between the two motifs means the set has variation built in: the jaali is structural and geometric, the floral organic and directional. Together they constitute a language, not a pattern.

The cotton is pure and unlined. Arranged across a large sofa, the five covers occupy space without crowding it. Used across two sofas or mixed with plain covers, each handcrafted piece holds its own. The blue is not bright, it reads closer to indigo than cobalt, which is what gives it its staying power alongside the dusty pink.

• Machine wash cold, gentle cycle.
• Remove cushion insert before washing.
• Wash separately for first two washes.
• Do not bleach. Line dry or tumble dry low.
• Iron on medium while slightly damp.
