Jaali and Floral Blue and Dusty Pink Cushion Cover Set

The Royal Courtyards Collection draws from a familiar image: a haveli courtyard in Rajasthan, mid-morning, the light coming through a carved stone jaali in slats. These covers, two jaali patterns, one floral, all hand-printed in Sanganer outside Jaipur, hold that geometry in cotton. The jaali is an old motif. It has not run out of things to say.

Three covers, two motifs, one palette. The blue and dusty pink combination here reads at the intersection of something Rajput and something quieter, not a costume, not a statement, but a considered presence on a sofa or daybed. Two of the covers carry the jaali lattice pattern, hand-printed in Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan; one carries a floral. Together they do not match so much as they correspond.

Sanganer artisans have been printing on cotton with carved wooden blocks for generations. The blocks are pressed by hand, inked one colour at a time, aligned by eye. The result is a pattern with slight variations across each cover, the repeat is the same, the impression is never quite identical. This is what hand-printing looks like.

• Remove cushion insert before washing.
• Wash separately for first two washes.
• Do not bleach. Line dry or tumble dry low.
