Kanjeevaram Etched Antique Pure Copper Water Bottle

Made from high-grade pure copper with a rich antique brown finish, the surface etching on this bottle is drawn from the border motifs of Kanjeevaram silk sarees, the geometric patterns from Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, translated into metal by craftsmen in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India's Pital Nagari. The antique finish is hand-applied; no two bottles are identical in tone.

Copper water storage is an Ayurvedic practice with a long history in Indian households, water kept in a copper vessel overnight is considered beneficial in traditional medicine, the metal interacting slowly with the water at a molecular level. • Polish periodically with an artisanal brass-cleaning powder or lemon and salt to restore lustre.
