Kashmir Willow Wicker Tissue Box

Woven from willow wicker in the Kashmir Valley by artisans working with KILAB in the Ganderbal district, the same families who make the valley's basket tradition. The tissue box lid is detachable and fits without rattling. The weave is tight enough to keep tissues crisp; the structure is rigid enough that the box does not flex when picked up. It is heavier than you expect from wicker.

This tissue box cover comes from Ganderbal, Kashmir, made from willow wicker over a dark wood frame. The pale wicker against the charcoal wood gives it the same visual signature as the rest of the Willows of the Valley collection, a combination that is distinctly Kashmiri in its materials and entirely at ease in a contemporary home. The lid is detachable; without it, the box functions as an open organizer.

Set it on the dressing table. On the console by the front door. On the bedside table where a tissue box in its supermarket packaging feels like a defeat. The wicker breathes and does not trap heat, which is simply what natural materials do. The darkened wood frame will not lighten; the willow will slowly warm to a slightly deeper ivory over time.
