Details

Cast and finished in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India's Pital Nagari, the Brass City, this handcrafted tea strainer passes through five hands before it reaches yours: mould-making, metal melting, casting, hand-scraping, and polishing. Each stage leaves a mark. The strainer is heavier than it looks. That weight is the point.

In Moradabad, the craft of brass-making is not a weekend tradition, it is the city's entire identity. This handmade tea strainer and rest are mould-cast from pure brass, then hand-scraped to achieve their precise form and polished to a warm, golden finish. The rest catches drips without fuss; the strainer's mesh is close enough to hold even fine-leaf teas without clogging.

Set it on the counter during your morning chai and it changes the feeling of the ritual. Brass is antibacterial by nature. It will darken at the edges with use, developing a deeper amber tone that no factory finish can replicate. This patina is not a defect, it is the object becoming yours.
