Artisans in Moradabad's metalworking quarter cast each jar from pure brass, then take it to the hammer, working the surface from base to rim, ensuring the texture is consistent and the wall stays even. The lid is fitted to its specific jar; the two are made together.

The largest in the Moradabad hammered brass series, this jar is cast from pure brass and finished by hand in the metalworking workshops of Pital Nagari, Uttar Pradesh. The hammered surface catches light from any angle, a rougher, more tactile finish than etched or polished brass, more honest about the material and the making.

This jar holds more: a larger quantity of tea, a week's worth of sugar, biscuits, or dry snacks. The lid fits snugly without a seal, the vessel breathes, but contents stay protected. Set it on a counter and it holds its place without demanding arrangement.

Care Instructions

• Brass will develop a natural patina with use, this is not a defect, it is the object becoming yours.
