Ornate Trees Reversible Block-Printed Quilt

Tree-of-life motifs have moved through Indian textiles for four centuries, from Mughal palace walls to the kalamkari painters of Andhra to the block printers of Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan, who press carved wooden blocks into cotton with the same deliberateness their forebears brought to it. This quilt carries ornate trees on both faces: two colorways, one cloth, the choice yours each morning.

This handcrafted quilted bed cover is block-printed in Sanganer using traditional carved teak blocks, the ornate tree motif pulls from a visual language that appears in Indian craft across mediums, from inlay to weaving to wall painting. Here it lives on pure cotton, handmade with a cotton fill that adds loft without weight.

It works equally as a bed cover and as a light quilt, the cotton fill gives it enough warmth to function on a cool night, and the breathable layers prevent the stuffiness of heavier fills. The reversible construction gives you two rooms in one object. Unfold it and the trees take over the bed.
