Petal Pattern Hand Block-Printed Cotton Towel Set

The petal motif on this towel was pressed from a carved wooden block in Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan. The artisan inked it, pressed it, lifted it, and moved half a block-width to the right to do it again. A thousand small repetitions make the handcrafted pattern you see.

In Sanganer, the block-printing workshops have run unbroken for generations, adapting motifs but preserving the method: hand-cut teak blocks, water-based pigments, cloth stretched on long padded tables, and time. This towel's petal pattern is part of that lineage, a floral vocabulary that the town's printers developed for Rajput courts and has never quite left. The 300 GSM waffle weave cotton underneath the artisanal print is built for absorption; the raised grid structure lifts moisture away and lets air move through.

A towel is the first and last thing you touch in a day. It makes sense to care about which one.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash cold, gentle cycle.
• Wash separately for first two washes to allow dye to settle.
• Do not bleach, natural block-print dyes will fade under harsh chemicals.
• Tumble dry low or line dry in shade.
• Iron on medium if needed; avoid direct heat on the printed surface.
