Details
In the Himalayan foothills of Nagaland, tribal women weavers work a backstrap loom using their own body weight as tension. The arrowhead motifs on this red and black runner are tribal signatures, each tribe in Nagaland has its own visual language, woven into cloth as identity, not as pattern.
Handwoven by tribal women weavers in Nagaland's Himalayan foothills using a traditional backstrap or loin loom, this handcrafted runner is made from 100% mercerised cotton with Azo-free dyes. The arrowhead motifs on a red ground carry deep tribal symbolism, they are not a design choice but a declaration of identity, each form specific to a Naga clan and its history.
Red on a table is a commitment. This red, the particular warm-brick red of artisanal dye tradition, anchored by black, makes the table feel inhabited. The arrowheads point and repeat across the surface: a rhythm that is both decorative and insistent. Something handmade was placed here, by someone who knew exactly what they were making.
