In Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan, artisans press carved wooden blocks into cloth the way their grandparents did, not with machines, but with the weight of their palms and a practiced eye for repeat. The marigold, genda phool, has marked every Indian celebration for centuries; here it moves across mulmul cotton in sage and mustard, unhurried. Woven from mulmul, the sheerest grade of Indian cotton, this handcrafted quilt carries hand-block printed marigold motifs drawn from the jaali patterns of Rajasthan's palace courtyards. Sanganer's printers work with carved teak blocks, each handmade impression slightly different from the last, which is what gives the repeat its life. The sage green and mustard palette reads as both deeply rooted and quietly modern.

It drapes easily across a bed or folds into an armchair for an evening's reading. Light enough for a room with the AC running all night, warm enough when the temperature drops at 2 a.m. The artisanal fabric softens with every wash, the color settles into something richer.
