Sanganer Hand Block-Printed Cotton Bedsheet, Fern & Ivory

In Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan, artisans carve wooden blocks with the patterns they have inherited, then press them in careful register across lengths of cotton, each impression made by hand, each pass of the block slightly individual. This sheet's textured fern green and off-white design was printed this way, block by block, on pure cotton.

Hand block-printed in Sanganer, outside Jaipur, Rajasthan, one of India's most sustained centres of artisanal textile printing, this bedsheet arrives in fern green and off-white on pure cotton. The print is a textured, repeating pattern applied using carved wooden blocks: each pass of the block is set by eye, aligned by touch, and pressed by the printer's full weight. The slight variation between impressions is not inconsistency. It is the texture of handmade making.

On a bed, the color is quiet: earthy, soft, suited to a room that has wood or stone or other natural materials. The cotton breathes. Paired with two matching pillow covers, this handcrafted set establishes a bedroom palette without dictating it.

Care Instructions

• Machine wash cold, gentle cycle.
• Wash separately for first two washes.
• Do not bleach. Tumble dry low or line dry in shade.
• Iron on medium while slightly damp.
