Details
From Midnapore, in rural West Bengal, artisans weave madur grass by hand, harvesting it from local wetlands, drying it, and interlacing it with dyed cotton thread in patterns that require no written design. The hands know. The mat knows.
Made from natural madur grass from Midnapore's wetland belt in West Bengal, these handcrafted mats are hand-woven with cotton thread in teal and cobalt blue, two blues that sit in tension with each other, one warm and one cold, creating a surface that catches the eye without demanding it.
Madur is a particularly tactile surface, firm but not hard, cool to the touch, slightly rough in the right way. These handmade mats sit flat immediately. They do not curl, do not slip, and do not look like they are trying too hard. They are for the table that is already considered, and wants one more considered thing.

Materials + Care
Pure brass, sheesham, cotton — colours from a dye pot, not a swatch. Brass deepens with use; that is not a defect, it is the object becoming yours. Care notes for each material live in the Details above.
