Details
The Keani Keam wicker tradition of Ganderbal, Kashmir is practiced by artisans who learned the weave from the generation before them. Willow from the valley, soaked to soften, worked over a wooden form, the result is a vessel that holds its shape without any fastener or frame.
Three planters, hand-woven from Kashmir Valley willow by artisans in Ganderbal, using the Keani Keam tradition. The rust and natural brown palette comes from the combination of natural willow and dyed strands worked into the weave. Each is identical in form but not in detail, the hand does not repeat exactly.
Use them together on a windowsill, staggered on a shelf, or spread across different rooms. At this scale, a trio reads as intentional rather than accidental. The willow wicker is sturdy; the weave does not loosen with use.
